The reporter, AC Thompson, begins in Charlottesville in 2017, examining how a white supremacist rally ended in the death of a counter-protester when James Alex Fields Jr rammed his car into a crowd. Thompson then examines how Donald Trump’s response set the tone for the next three years, resulting in the storming of the Capitol in January 2021. Ammar Kalia
