Ponies

9pm, Sky Atlantic
A starry, stylish and even fun cold war thriller. Bea (Emilia Clarke) is a highly educated Russian-speaking secretary. Twila (Haley Lu Richardson) is a very street-smart woman – the kind who calls a local a “bitch” for selling cracked eggs. Together, they make a good team as Ponies – that’s “persons of no interest” – to find out how their husbands were really killed in Moscow. Adrian Lester and Harriet Walter also star. World’s Biggest Curry Restaurant

8pm, Channel 4
It takes 150 staff to run the largest Pakistani and Indian curry house on the planet – the Royal Nawaab in Stockport, Greater Manchester. How does owner Mahboob Hussain manage such an operation seven days a week? He invites the cameras behind the scenes to find out, as chefs race to feed thousands of guests delicious food night after night. HR

Hidden Treasures of the National Trust

9pm, BBC Two
A juicier episode of the Toby Jones-narrated cultural conservation series. A scandalous society portrait reveals the story behind a love triangle and, along with other items, shows how the legacy of the Grand Tour still shapes the UK’s great houses today. HR

Smoggie Queens

10pm, BBC Three

More fun with Phil Dunning’s bold, brash and hilarious comedy. The queens help – or, more accurately, hinder – Stewart (Elijah Young) with his first ever date, as they head to the same restaurant to eavesdrop on how things are going. Cue some cracking lines and near disasters. HR

Hacks

10.05pm, Sky Atlantic
The brilliant comedy reaches its penultimate episode, having pleased fans in this fifth and final season by hating on AI and throwing some red meat towards viewers who want Deborah (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) to become a slightly unlikely couple. There are always, however, the usual arguments to be had and jokes to be written. Jack Seale

St Denis Medical

11.40pm, BBC One
A double bill of the amiable – if retro – US mockumentary. Alex’s attempts at altruism backfire when she accidentally donates $1,000 instead of $100 to a fundraiser for Parker’s dog. And Joyce’s boyfriend visits the hospital, having swallowed a marble from a kids’ board game in a desperate bid for her attention. Hannah J Davies

Film choice

The Bride! (Maggie Gyllenhaal, 2025), 9.50am, 8pm, Sky Cinema Premiere
An unholy splicing of Bonnie and Clyde and Baz Luhrmann (with a knowing wink to Mel Brooks), Maggie Gyllenhaal’s 1930s gothic horror is a riot from start to finish. Chicago gangster’s cohort Ida (a stupendously energetic Jessie Buckley) is possessed by the spirit of Mary Shelley, then dies and is resurrected – at the behest of Frankenstein’s monster, Frank (Christian Bale) – as a punky rebel. Frank’s love of film musicals is the thread that ties together a wild fantasy of girl-power rage and outsider romance. Simon Wardell
