TV historian Dan Jones says someone keeps breaking into his Tesla to watch Netflix

Telly historian Dan Jones has a mystery to get to the bottom of - how to stop a tech-savvy intruder breaking into his car and watching Netflix.

The Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty presenter twigged he had an intruder who keeps breaking into his £50,000 Tesla after finding the person's hat on the back seat.

The TV star says the unwelcome guest knows how to bypassed the electric car’s security and hack into its entertainment system.

Dan says whoever breaks in is a fan of The Crown and Peaky Blinders, but logs into Netflix on a French account.

He first grew suspicious after finding battery being depleted in the morning - and the seat being pushed far back.

The evidence started to stack up and Dan found what seemed to be drugs on the driveway in Staines, Surrey and the family dog's bed had been rolled into a pillow.

But he knew for sure when he found an England rugby hat in the back.

He told The Sunday Times : “Somebody’s been watching Netflix each night in my car. And why not? It’s like a four-star hotel. It’s got comfy seats, you can recline.

“But if you have that level of technical competence, you would not be sleeping in people’s cars. I would be committing crypto-fraud.”

After he found the hat, Dam offered the intruder an olive branch.

“That came as insult to injury," he added "There was no more doubt. Somebody had been in the car. It now falls into place.

"So I and left a note saying: 'I have your hat. If you need it back, text me'."

But he say he has not yet heard back.

"We are in general sympathetic to people who are in unfortunate straitened circumstances," said the presenters, whose wife is the co-founder of charity Beauty Banks.

He says the visitor also watched The Office and Downton Abbey, and was half-way through horror series The Conjuring.
