This interview took place at Windsor House in Victoria Street, TfL's HQ, on Tuesday 9th June. We began talking just before noon. The strike was due to start at 19:00. Across town in Euston negotiations were continuing under the auspices of the conciliation service Acas. There were still hopes at this point that a settlement would be reached and the strike called off. No wonder Hendy chose his words with care.
