Trump to meet with Venezuela's Machado, says it'd be an "honor" to accept her Nobel

President Trump will meet with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado next week and welcomed her offer to give him her Nobel Peace Prize, per his interview on Fox News' "Hannity," broadcast Thursday night.

The big picture: Host Sean Hannity noted during his sit-down interview with Trump that Machado told Fox News this week that she wanted to give him her Nobel after praising the U.S. raid in Caracas that captured leader Nicolás Maduro.

Zoom in: Hannity asked Trump in their interview if he had any plans to meet with Machado and whether he would you accept the 2025 Nobel she wants to give him.

  • "I understand she's coming in next week sometime, and I look forward to saying hello to her," Trump said.
  • "And I've heard that she wants to do that. That would be a great honor. I did put out eight wars," added Trump, who had campaigned for the prize.
