Trump jokes with FIFA chief about keeping World Cup trophy

Fifa World Cup Donald Trump Gianni Infantino FIFA World Cup (Organization)

Donald Trump held the FIFA World Cup trophy during a meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino in the Oval Office on Friday, 22 August 2025.
Trump jokingly asked if he could keep the trophy, stating, "We're not giving it back."
Infantino clarified that only the FIFA President, Presidents of countries, and winners are permitted to touch the trophy.
Trump announced that the 2026 FIFA World Cup Draw is scheduled to take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
