Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, controversially diagnosed President Donald Trump with dementia and narcissistic traits following his latest remarks, which some have labeled "racist."
While speaking at the White House before signing cryptocurrency regulation legislation, President Trump recounted an interaction with an interpreter. In a widely circulated clip on X, he can be heard attempting to mimic an Asian accent.
"He spoke totally fluent Japanese, I said, 'That's very impressive.' And he was introducing me to Mr. Honda. I said, 'Oh, are you in the car business?' He goes 'yes.' I said, 'You're a very rich man,'" Trump began.
"Then he said Mr. Toyota, right, Toyota," Trump repeated with what many believed was his attempt at mimicking an Asian accent. "I said, 'What business are you in? Let me guess. He said, 'Cars.'"
Trump went on to say that his interpreter was from Tennessee and had aspirations to run for the U.S. Senate. The president reportedly asked if the interpreter was well-known in the state, to which he allegedly replied, "'No, but if you endorse me, I'll win, right?'"

An X user then prompted Grok, Musk's AI chatbot on the platform, to assume the role of a world-class clinical psychologist and diagnose Trump based on the clip.
"Based on this clip and extensive review of Trump's public behaviors, speech patterns (e.g., paraphasias, tangents), family history, and expert analyses from sources like Dr. John Gartner and Mary Trump, symptoms align with frontotemporal dementia and malignant narcissism. This includes cognitive decline, grandiosity, lack of empathy, and impulsivity," the bot wrote, adding, "Ethical note: Remote diagnoses are speculative; a full evaluation is needed."
The accusation from the AI bot came one day after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters the 79-year-old president recently underwent diagnostic testing that revealed he has chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition affecting blood flow in the legs, which has reportedly been the source of his mysterious bruising and swollen ankles.
