Trump cancels Iran attack after telling regime ‘clock is ticking’ to end the war

  • US President Donald Trump has called off planned strikes against Iran, stating the decision was made at the request of Gulf allies to allow for "serious negotiations."
  • Writing on Truth Social, Trump instructed the US military to remain prepared for a "full, large scale assault" on Iran should an acceptable deal not be reached.
  • This development followed Trump's earlier warning that Iran's window for reaching an agreement was closing, threatening renewed conflict after a fragile ceasefire.
  • Iran's foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, responded by affirming Tehran's commitment to diplomacy but warned of a "full strength" retaliation to any attack.
  • "Dialogue does not mean surrender," Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian added on X. "The Islamic Republic of Iran enters into dialogue with dignity, authority, and the preservation of the nation's rights, and under no circumstances will it retreat from the legal rights of the people and the country. The Iranian government has stressed that it will “not retreat” from the “legal rights of the people and the country.”
