Trump ally refuses to back JD Vance as future of MAGA

  • MAGA influencer Steve Bannon declined to throw his support behind Vice President JD Vance as President Donald Trump’s natural successor.
  • While speaking at the Semafor World Economy conference in Washington, D.C., Trump’s former White House chief strategist was asked, “Is JD Vance heir to the MAGA movement? Is he the heir apparent?”
  • Bannon replied saying, “I don’t MAGA... MAGA has President Trump, and as you know, I’m a huge advocate of President Trump’s third term.” The interviewer then asked, “You’re not just saying that to mess with JD?”
  • “No not at all,” Bannon replied. “You guys all paid your taxes here yesterday. Is there anyone in the room who would not vote for President Trump and what he’s trying to do with his economy?”
  • His reluctance to endorse Vance, seen as a frontrunner for the 2028 presidential election, comes amidst growing discontent within the MAGA movement regarding the war in Iran.
