Trump Again Slams Musk Over 'Big, Beautiful' Bill Clash, Warns He Might Have To 'Head Back Home To South Africa' Without Subsidies

President Donald Trump again slammed former ally Elon Musk over his opposition to his administration's "big, beautiful" tax cut and spending bill, saying the real reason why he is against it is opposition to the elimination to subsidies for electric vehicles.

"Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one," Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

"Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!" he added, taking a jab at the agency Musk led during the first months of the administration and sought to slash government spending.

Musk has not responded directly to Trump, but repeatedly slammed the bill, claiming it would largely increase the fiscal deficit and vowing to support politicians willing to cut spending.

In fact, Musk again called for the creation of a new political party in the country, saying "it is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!"

"Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people," Musk said in a publication on his social media platform, X. He then recalled a poll held on June 5 in which he asked whether it was time to "create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle" Over 80% of more than 5.6 million voters supported the initiative.

Musk fell out with Trump earlier this month after harshly criticizing the bill. The two had a public feud on social media that escalated when Musk accused Trump of being on the "Epstein Files" related to late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Musk then said he had gone too far with his actions and deleted the publications, but the feud has again escalated as the bill gets close to being passed.
