TRS MLC K Kavitha seeks complaint copies of Delhi liquor scam

HYDERABAD: A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) served notices Kalvakuntla Kavitha, MLC and daughter of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, asking her to depose herself before the investigating agency on December 6 as a witness, she wrote a letter to provide her copies of the complaint received from one Praveen Kumar Roy of ministry of home affairs, which was referred in the notice sent to her.

"The requested documents may be provided at the earliest to enable me to acquaint myself and answer appropriately within a reasonable period of time. Date of our meeting can be fixed at Hyderabad after the receipt of the document," Kavitha said on Saturday evening in her letter to Alok Kumar Shashi, deputy superintendent of police, CBI, Delhi. Praveen Kumar Roy complained against Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia and 14 others in the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The CBI served notices under section 160 CrPC, to know the facts pertaining to the case.

Before writing a letter to the CBI, Kavitha went to Pragati Bhavan on Saturday afternoon and held discussion with her father CM KCR on the notices. She reportedly interacted with her lawyers on the notices and other issues.

Meanwhile, several TRS leaders and workers thronged Kavitha's house at Road No 14, Banjara Hills expressing their solidarity with the MLC. Flexes were erected at various places such as Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Punjagutta saying "Daughter of Fighter-Will never fear. We are with Kavithakka".

TRS leader Arvind Alishetty, who erected the flexes said the notices were part of harassment and witchhunt to the TRS leaders and the party would counter it.
