Pervert on sex offenders' register after TRNSMT attacks at Glasgow Green

A pervert who sexually assaulted a teenager and a woman at the TRNSMT music festival has walked free from court.

Thomas Forsey, 23, preyed on his victims at Glasgow Green on September 11, 2021.

Forsey, of the city’s Whiteinch, held the then 17-year-old’s throat before kissing her against her will. He then went on to grope the second victim before following the pair on to a fairground ride where he struck again.

Forsey pled guilty to the two charges during the second day of trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work at today's sentencing. Forsey was also put under supervision and the sex offenders register for one year by Sheriff Thomas Ward.

The court heard that the two women met Forsey who was unknown to them at TRNSMT. The trio conversed for an hour then walked towards the rides.

Prosecutor Abigail McKenna said: "Forsey grabbed the teenager by the throat with his hand and began kissing her without consent." Forsey was pushed away and the trio continued to walk towards the rides.

While waiting to get on, Forsey asked a sexually inappropriate question before touching the second woman on the breast. He was told to stop before apologising.

Forsey then carried out the same act on her other breast.

The two women attempted to get on the ride on their own without Forsey. However, he told the conductor that he was with the pair and jumped on beside them.

He sat next to the teenager where he ran his hand up her leg and touched her thigh.

Miss McKenna added: "Once the ride finished both women ran and flagged down the police."

Forsey was traced meantime and was arrested.
