TRNSMT Festival new line up announced as Glasgow Green event moved to September 2021

TRNSMT organisers have announced that the festival will be going ahead this year - on a different date and with a slightly new line-up.

The festival will be moving to later on in the summer but will still be held at Glasgow Green. Instead of the usual July slot, the three-day event will be moved to September 10 to 12, 2021.

Due to the rescheduled dates, some of the acts that were previously announced are no longer able to perform but have been replaced with some equally exciting additions.

Taking Lewis Capaldi's place on the Sunday line-up will be The Chemical Brothers. Elsewhere, Primal Scream, Dermot Kennedy and Becky Hill have been added to the weekend.

Festival Director Geoff Ellis has promised that Lewis will be back to play TRNSMT in July 2022.

Speaking following the announcement, he said: "We are delighted to announce our September dates for TRNSMT today. We had initially hoped for the festival to take place in July as planned, but a combination of the timetable to exit lockdown and the preparation time needed to put on an event of TRNSMT’s scale means this wasn’t possible.

"September gives us the opportunity to put on the best festival we can for our fans after such a long time without any live music, and we will, of course, work with all relevant authorities to ensure we follow any guidelines that may be in place in September.”

On returning to Glasgow Green for TRNSMT Festival, Saturday headliner Liam Gallagher said, “Brothers and Sisters, can't wait to get up to Glasgow TRNSMT and blow your minds. It's been far too long. C'mon you know LG x"

Tickets already purchased will be valid for the equivalent days in September 2021.
