TRNSMT crowd refuse to let rain ruin festival after downpours at Glasgow Green

A wee bit of rain has never stopped the party in Glasgow - and TRNSMT was no different.

The heavens opened after a day-long threat of torrential rain and on and off showers and the party continued poncho style.

Whilst a few sheltered under Glasgow Green's finest foliage and others ran for cover under the canvas of the VIP seating area, most of the festival's revellers were unfazed.

Some clambered on shoulders and others took their 'taps aff' to be extra liberated as the music played on.

Converses, Doc Martens and trainers were more in evidence than wellies and people were in great spirit.

One couple, Lucy Robertson from Fife and Keni Carmichael from Glasgow, who wore matching white ponchos, said: “It’s amazing. We only came here for Kasabian and Sam Fender.”

Lucy said: “Being here in the rain just feels like we are in Scotland." And Keni joked: “She brought the rain with her from Fife.”

Airdrie lads Gary and Charles were quite happy to dance about bare chested. They said in unison: “It’s amazing. Unreal. Taps aff is the way to go.”

Kasabian frontman Serge Pizzorno dedicated his song LSF mixed with some of Fatboy Slim's Praise You to Glasgow and urged everyone to jump on a set of shoulders

As he ended his set he added: ‘If you think that rock n roll will never die say ‘aye’. It was ironic that the clouds opened again for Fire but by that time everyone was ablaze.
