Tributes have been paid to a young Scots dad on the one year anniversary of his death.
William Wardrop tragically died following an alleged disturbance at a property in Larkhall on May 22, 2020.
The 23-year-old dad-of-two passed away from his injuries after being rushed to Wishaw General Hospital.
His heartbroken loved ones have planned a balloon release to mark one year since his death as many posted on William's Facebook page to pay tribute to him.
One wrote: "A year since you were taken, it’s been the hardest year ever, miss you so much , and love you so much, my funny caring crazy nephew who had the heart of gold, my heart is so broken thinking of you every day and night. Fly high William Wardrop You will never be forgotten."
Another added: "A year since you passed bro think about u all the time hope you’re up there with the boys resting easy. We love and miss u young Wull. Till we meet again."
One person said: "A year already, still can't believe it tbh. The day you were taken was the worst day for everyone. I know I'm not your blood and I know I'm 'through marriage' but you were like my wee brother long before even that, you all were.
"I 'babysat' you guys, watched you all grow up and start families of your own, if ever I needed help you were one of the 1st to jump n say I'll do it if you want. I think back to some of the laughs we had (that day with your tablet will haunt me forever lol), your crazy antics with my boys who adored you, and sometimes it makes me smile like mad other days I just sit and think 'why'.
"You will never know how much people loved you in one way or another. It's crazy but we still expect a random message, call or visit, just know although we don't always post or talk about you, you are never out of our hearts or thoughts. We love you pal and we always will."
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with William's death.
