A mother who is at the centre of a murder investigation has been warmly remembered by friends who described her as ‘an amazing soul’.
Tributes have been posted online for Charlotte Ford, 35, who was found dead at an apartment block on Saturday morning (August 21).
The ‘amazing’ mum of one was tragically found by emergency services who were called to the scene at 8.30am where she was sadly pronounced dead.
Over the weekend police confirmed that a male, aged over 30, had been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to Charlotte’s death.
The man who was arrested has since been bailed ‘pending further enquiries’ with police confirming that enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding Mrs Ford’s death.
Police said they were keeping an ‘open mind’ as they continue to investigate Charlotte’s death at Beaver House in Victoria Park, and urged the public to avoid speculation.
A spokesperson for South Manchester Coroner’s Court confirmed a file relating to Ms Ford’s death in the Offerton area of Stockport had been passed to the coroner.
As news of the tragedy broke, dozens of friends and those who knew Charlotte took to social media to pay tribute.
Friends said she ‘adored’ her young son, who has now tragically been left without his mother.

Carley Jones met Ms Ford through work around 14 years ago, and spent a period of time living in South Africa together.
“Charlotte was an amazing soul. She always wanted to help people and fix people,” she said, speaking to the M.E.N.
“She was hilarious, bubbly and bright. She would walk into a room a light it right up.
“One of those people! Popular, adored her son.”
Close friend, Lee Griffiths, wrote: “Most of us will remember her for her kindness, warmth, and smile.
“Our thoughts go out to her family at this time. We will dance a dance for you sweetheart. Deeply missed by anyone and everyone that met her.
“R.I.P sweetheart.”
Laura Summerfield said: “Can’t believe I’m writing this. RIP Charlotte Ford.
“My thoughts are with your family and little boy at this sad time. I will treasure out memories. Sleep tight angel.”
Paul McFarlane wrote: “You were such a truly genuine person and beautiful inside and out.
“You settled and had a wonderful little son and it’s hard to believe he’s going to grow up without his amazing, caring and funny mummy.
“I’ll never forget the two years we had as desk buddies at work and I certainly won’t forget you being my “fag hag” on our many crazy night on Canal Street.
“Sleep tight babe.”
Officers and crime scene investigators could be seen throughout the day on Saturday moving in and out of the 12-storey high-rise block of flats where Ms Ford was found.
In an earlier statement, Detective Inspector Victoria Wade of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Sadly a woman has lost her life and, as always, our priority is ensuring we can provide her loved ones with the support and answers that they need at this devastating time.
“I would stress that our enquiries are in their initial stages and we are keeping an open mind as we investigate the full circumstances surrounding her death and I would urge the public to avoid speculation at this time.”
