Tributes paid to 'legend' ex-Royal Marine who died in bicycle crash in Angus

Tributes have been paid to an ex- Royal Marine who died in a tragic bicycle crash in Angus.

Tansy Lee died after crashing his bike outside Auchmithie School House on Friday morning

The 61-year-old, from the Arbroath area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified by police this evening.

Friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to 'a true legend'.

One person wrote: "RIP tansy, an all round hoofing bootneck and a true legend."

Another person said: "R.I.P Tansy, I was glad to of known you, may you ride high up there in the skies above us, rest easy royal.

A person said: "RIP Tansy such a lovely man and a true friend thoughts and prayers to Frances and family

Police are still investigating his death but are not looking for anyone else in connect with the incident.

Sergeant William Strachan, of the Dundee Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Lee’s family at this sad time.

“Enquiries into the exact circumstances are ongoing, however we are not looking for any additional vehicles or individuals in connection with the incident."

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
