Tributes paid to 'beloved' young Tipperary man Jamie O'Dea after tragic death

Tributes have been paid to a "beloved" young Tipperary man who tragically died last week.

Jamie O'Dea passed away on Friday, with his funeral mass held in St Lua's Church yesterday morning.

And tributes have come pouring in for the "extremely popular" Ballina man.

Local club Ballina GAA wrote: "On behalf of Ballina GAA Club we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Jean, Kieran and Clódagh, the O’Dea & Bourke families and Jamie’s many friends at this very sad time.

"Jamie played at juvenile level with Ballina and he and the O’Dea family have been a great friend to the club over the years.

"The Club welcomes people to park in the car park at any stage over the coming days.

"May he rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raimh a anam."

Smith O'Brien's GAA wrote on their Facebook page: "Smith O'Briens Gaa would like to extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jamie O'Dea on his untimely passing.

"Jamie was an extremely popular young man here in Killaloe also with his infectious personality and smile and will be dearly missed.

"May he rest in peace."

While Jamie's former club Lough Derg FC added: "Lough Derg FC extends our sympathies to the family and friends of Jamie O'Dea on his tragic passing. Jamie played with us as a schoolboy.

"May he rest in peace."
