Tributes flow for 'gentleman' litter picker and dog walker Paddy Maguire who passed away

Tributes have poured in for a well-known west Dublin "gentleman" litter picker and dog walker who has sadly passed away.

Patrick "Paddy" Maguire, from Mulhuddart and formerly of Ballyfermot, passed away "peacefully" surrounded by his family at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown on Thursday.

He was described as "well known" in the Mulhuddart area on a local Facebook page, which noted he "liked to litter pick the all-weather pitch and memorial area when out walking his dog."

One person wrote online: "I grew up next door to Paddy. He was a total gentleman. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Ellen and their son Stephen and their daughter Sharon and all of his grandchildren. Rest In Peace Paddy."

Another said: "He cycled from home to work and back everyday and always brought his dogs Shep and Tara for a walk when he got home from work."

A third wrote: "RIP. A lovely man, thinking of you all, sorry for your loss."
