A number of bus services were diverted for a short time while the closure was in place.

At around 8.13pm, bus operator NCT tweeted: "Trent Bridge has been closed towards County Hall because of a police incident.

"South Notts 1 and Green 6-11 away from the City are diverting via Lady Bay Bridge.

"Further details to follow."

At 8.36pm, they tweeted: "Trent Bridge has reopened and services are back to normal route, albeit with delays."

The incident was then resolved and the road reopened at around 8.35pm.
