Transport bosses play on Love Island catch phrase in latest traffic board joke

Transport bosses are back at it with their witty traffic signs, this time with a Love Island theme.

In a series of creative traffic boards, Transport for Greater Manchester have now turned their hand to this summer's hottest TV show.

Their latest stunt targeted a board on Princess Road for travellers heading towards the city centre this weekend.

The ITV2 hit show which encourages contestants to 'couple up' for the chance to win a cash prize, is now well into it's second week.

Fans of the show may have been amused by the sign which plays on this year's favourite catch-phrase 'it is what it is.'

Road users have also been encouraged to 'couple up' with Metrolink instead - in a somewhat cringe-worthy plea from bosses.

Wednesday night's episode wasn't short of drama, with tears and tantrums as tensions begin to rise within the villa.

Two new girls entered the villa and got to choose three lucky guys to cook them a starter, main course and dessert each.

Viewers were left pretty grossed out by the meal Manchester-based boxer, Tommy Fury made for his date with model Maura, 28.

This week's humorous signs are just one of many special signs created by TFGM in recent months.

Last week saw a ahead of his gig at Heaton Park which kicked off a huge weekend of music events, including Parklife.

This weekend ahead is expected to be busy with several events including the Cricket World Cup at Old Trafford on Sunday, and the Courteeners set to play Heaton Park on Saturday.

What will TFGM come up with next week?
