Nottingham tram collides with pedestrian forcing suspension of some services

A tram has collided with a pedestrian at the Nottingham station stop, suspending some services while the incident was cleared.

NET (Nottingham Express Transit), which operates the trams, Tweeted at 4.51pm on Wednesday, March 2 to say there was no service between Old Market Square and NG2 / Queens Walk.

The incident has since been cleared and trams are running to all destinations, but with extended wait times.

NCT Navy and Orange Line buses accepted tram tickets and passes while the incident cleared.

But it affected all services during a time when commuters are trying to get home for the day.

A spokesperson for NET said: "Shortly before 5pm, a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a tram at the Nottingham station stop.

"Emergency services attended the scene and a woman has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

"Services are currently suspended between Old Market Square and Queens Walk / NG2 with NCT buses accepting NET tickets on this section of the network.

"An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and we are unable to comment further at this time."

The condition of the patient is not currently known.
