Robert Carlyle has revealed some pampered actors have their on-set trailers measured by staff to make sure they are big enough.
The Trainspotting star said he can’t stand fellow performers who demand luxury treatment.
He told how several people he had worked with had gone down in his estimation because of their diva-like behaviour.
Carlyle, 60, said he had witnessed co-stars being moved trailers because they are unhappy with the space they have been given to relax during takes.
He said: “I know that you get the publicist coming out to the set and they measure it.
“They then report back and say, ‘Miss so and so’s trailer is four inches shorter than the other one’. I have seen people being moved several times to different trailers and you just know what’s happened.
“You think, ‘God, is that really what’s important to you?’.”
Glasgow-born Carlyle is currently on TV screens as Tory Prime Minister Robert Sutherland in the second season of Sky drama Cobra.
Speaking on the BBC podcast Must Watch, he told how he was happy to share a trailer with co-star Victoria Hamilton during filming. He said: “It’s something that’s genuinely never bothered me. I always prefer a trailer where two people share.
“You have got this thing that’s got the really dubious title of a ‘double banger’ which means it’s halved in two. With Cobra my partner in the ‘double banger’ was Victoria Hamilton.”
Last month, Carlyle revealed he is set to play Trainspotting character Francis Begbie again in a new TV series adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s The Blade Artist.
