It was glaringly obvious that Donald Trump and Elon Musk would eventually have a catastrophic falling out. The pair are thin-skinned, catty queens who each wholeheartedly believe they’re the single most important man on the planet, meaning drama was inevitable.
But what we didn’t foresee is that the drama would be quite so juicy. Musk started strong by insinuating that Trump was a pedophile linked to Jeffrey Epstein, but Trump somehow high-mindedly stayed away from responding. Musk rapidly adopted a conciliatory tone as he tried to patch things up but, let’s face it, Trump certainly can nurse a grudge.
Now, exasperated by Musk’s campaigning against his Big, Beautiful Bill and ongoing vows to set up his Democrat/Republican challenger ‘The America Party’, he’s logged onto Truth Social to deliver a truly blistering ‘Classic Trump’ response:
It’s entirely possible to disagree and despise Trump for everything he is and does, but when it comes to a crushing takedown, he’s one of the best in the business. Who can deny the brutal thud of beginning your roast by saying: “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely “off the rails”. essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.”
Aside from the condescending insults, Trump is taking aim at Musk’s businesses. Tesla relies upon the EV Mandate, which Trump is now openly describing as “ridiculous”, and going on to say it’s absurd he should be shocked it’s going to be eliminated: “It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that – I was very surprised!”
The traitorous Mr Musk
The coup de grâce is a none-too-subtle bit of red meat for MAGA that Musk is only pretending to be a Republican, saying he was surprised he picked a “blue-blooded Democrat” to run NASA and then saying: “Elon probably was, also.”
The cherry on top is accusing Musk of being corrupt by trying to put his “very close friend” in charge of NASA when it’s “such a big part of Elon’s corporate life” and wrapping things up by saying he’s essentially anti-American. After all, if Trump now says his job is to “protect the American Public” from Musk, what does that make him?
Maybe that whispered dream of Trump deporting Musk could finally come to pass. Sure, that’d be an outrageous overreach of presidential power that would have terrible implications for freedom of speech, but it would also be very funny to see a whimpering and penniless Elon Musk frogmarched onto the next flight to Cape Town.
