Train bids farewell to Heisei

Heisei Chikuho Railway Co., a local railway company in Fukuoka Prefecture, started operating last week a special train of a design used at the start of the Heisei era with a commemorative mark on the front of the train reading "Thank you, Heisei." From May 1, the train will run with another mark that reads "Nice to meet you, Reiwa," daily for the time being.

The railway was established in October 1989, taking over tracks that had been part of the former Japanese National Railways network, and the name of the company was derived from that of the era.
