They say that lane 2 is blocked going westbound between junction two and three on the popular road and urged drivers to be cautious.

They added that traffic was building on approach at around 17:06pm on Monday November 29.

However, they added that traffic was beginning to ease as of 17:45pm but that there was still a heavy build up in the area.

In their post they said: “NEW: 17:06

It is understood however that the M8 is experiencing issues in the west of Scotland as the Junction 8 offslip on the M8 was impacted following another multiple car collision.

Police Scotland on the M8 J2-3, said: "A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.05pm on Monday, 29 November, to a report of a crash on the M8, westbound, near junction 2, Newbridge, involving three vehicles. One lane was blocked for a short time.”
