Tractor destroyed as fire rips through 2,000 square metres of hay

Fire crews have tackled a blaze involving 2,000 square metres of hay and a tractor.

The incident happened at around 3.22pm on Tuesday, August 25.

Three hose reels were used to extinguish the blaze and no one has been injured.

Crews from Newark and Collingham were called to the scene near Balderton Lane in Newark.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Newark and Collingham were at the scene of a fire involving 2,000 sq metres of hay and a tractor.

"Three hose reels and beaters were in use to extinguish the fire.

"No one has been injured. This incident has now been dealt with."
