Toyota has recalled 2,700 vehicles worldwide over fears the wheels could come loose or fall off.
The manufacturer, one of the most popular with Irish motorists, announced on Thursday it was recalling 2,700 of bZ4X SUVs. 2,200 were earmarked for the European market, with almost 300 destined for the US.
It's understood none of the affected cars made it to customers before the issue and recall was submitted to Japan's transportation ministry.

The issue is with bolts connecting the bZ4X's wheels to the body of the car which may become loose under sharp turns or even fall over, according to reports.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this causes you. We would have repaired it as soon as possible, but we are investigating the details," Toyota said.
Toyota have said not every model is subject to the recall but they have not revealed how many of the cars have now been built.
