Touts ripping off Sam Fender fans by charging 562% mark-up for invalid tickets

Sam Fender has urged fans not to buy tickets to his sold out arena show from re-sale sites like Viagogo - as the rip-off touted tickets won't get the fans into his gigs.

Tickets to Sam's gig at the 11,000 capacity Newcastle Arena  officially sold out in 'seven minutes', although many fans say they were unable to buy them as little as two minutes after they went on sale online.

Touts are already trying to exploit disappointed fans by offering tickets at more than 500% their face value - even though fans who buy touted tickets will be turned away from the show.

Sam Fender tweeted: "Tickets from resale sites will not be valid and entry refused, please don’t waste your hard earned money please ".

The only option for fans who did not get tickets is to check Twickets , a website for face-value ticket exchanging. Twickets is the only resale parter for Sam Fender's Newcastle Arena show. Tickets can not be sold for profit on Twickets.

ChronicleLive found the £27.50 tickets touted on re-selling site Viagogo for £182, a 562% mark-up.

Fans who buy second-hand tickets - other than from Twickets - risk not getting into the gig , as the tickets have the name of the original 'lead booker' printed on them.

The lead booker must attend the show with everybody they have brought tickets for, and will be asked for photo ID to prove who they are. If they can not produce ID, the terms and conditions state the ticketholder will be turned away.
