Touchdown Wire predicts the Texans win AFC South for 3rd straight year

The NFL season kicks off on Sept. 10, which means there are predictions galore being released ahead of the 101st season opener.

According to Doug Farrar and Mark Schofield from the Touchdown Wire, the Houston Texans won’t suffer a huge regression, as has been predicted over the offseason. Instead, the Texans will be wild-card weekend staples as always. Schofield as the most optimistic about Houston’s chances, as he has them winning the AFC South over the media-favored Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans.

Then in the AFC South, we’ve given Bill O’Brien a bit of a hard time this off-season – with reason of course – but he has something other teams do not: Deshaun Watson.

Schofield has the Texans as the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoffs, but neither writer clarified exactly how the playoffs would shake out; only giving their Super Bowl predictions instead.

Farrar gave the division to the Colts, but believes the Texans will find a way to claim a wild-card spot.

Texans fans don’t particularly care how the Texans get into the tournament, although earning a No. 1 seed and the conference’s only bye would be nice. Houston sports fans want to see how far the Texans can go in January before giving any validation to the O’Brien Way.
