Tottenham are due to welcome Giovani Lo Celso back into the squad after two months sidelined with a hip problem, but fellow deadline-day signing Ryan Sessegnon is not expected to feature until next month.
Juan Foyth is pushing for his first appearance of the season in the back four, while Christian Eriksen is available after missing Watford with a dead leg
and Ben Davies and Tanguy Ndombele could return to the XI.
Hugo Lloris, who is out after dislocating his elbow in the defeat to Brighton last month, has "commenced the early stages of rehabilitation". Paulo Gazzaniga is expected to start.
"It is going to be tough but at the moment our worst opponent is ourselves," said Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the game.
"We need to compete with Red Star as well as ourselves.
"There is no pressure on the team. They need to feel they have the freedom to play and I have said that the most important thing is that the players feel the freedom and perform."
