Tottenham XI vs Brentford: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League today

Tottenham largely stick with the same team named for Sunday’s postponed match at Burnley when they face Brentford tonight.

The biggest question for Antonio Conte was at centre-half, with Cristian Romero set to be sidelined until the New Year with a high-grade hamstring strain suffered on international duty last month.

Davinson Sanchez was due to start at Turf Moor but endured a torrid evening in the embarrassing defeat to NS Mura last week, when he was at fault for both the Slovenian side’s goals but keeps his place.

Japhet Tanganga was another option to play right centre-half in Conte’s 3-4-2-1 system but did not especially impress in an hour in the 2-1 win over Leeds. Joe Rodon is viewed by Conte as competition for Eric Dier at the heart of a back three, so is unlikely to be used in the wider role.

Oliver Skipp will return to the midfield, as he was scheduled to at Burnley, after being suspended for Leeds’ visit, leaving Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Harry Winks out of the side again and hoping for a chance against Norwich on Sunday.

As well as Romero, Conte is also without Giovani Lo Celso, who is expected to return to training on Friday after suffering a knee injury on Argentina duty.
