Tottenham 'won't be Spursy' in Champions League Final, insists Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen insists Tottenham won't be 'Spursy' in their Champions League Final clash with Liverpool.

The term has been famously borne out of the club's recent history of near misses and coming up short on the big occasion, however, the Dane believes that is in the past.

The playmaker, who has one year left on his deal and could well leave the club this summer, said victory in Madrid will change the entire perception of the club.

Having taken one point from their first three Champions League group stage games, Tottenham needed results against Inter Milan, PSV and Barcelona to secure passage into the knockout rounds, where thrilling victories over Manchester City and Ajax gave Mauricio Pochettino and his side all the belief they need to ensure that perception is changed on Saturday night.

"Spurs as a club, if you look from a historical point of view from Tottenham at how many trophies they've won before, where they've been before, it's new," Eriksen said.

"It's something that will change the club, how people look at the club, how people think about us players at Spurs.

"We're not going to be Spursy, or whatever they call it. As a player you just go for the moment and hope it falls your way."
