Tottenham vs Sheffield United prediction: Harry Kane to find form after injury setback

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to push on for a top four finish now after suffering heartache in the Carabao Cup final.

Spurs are 3/10 with Betfred while Championship-bound Sheffield United are an outside 10/1 shout with a draw at 9/2.

The defeat at Wembley last week clearly hit a couple of players more so this will be a test of Ryan Mason's man management early on to get his side to focus on the business end of the Premier League season as they aim for a top four finish and Champions League qualification.

A win could find them five points behind fourth, depending on how Liverpool do against Manchester United today, adding pressure to West Ham's place in the top four race after suffering back-to-back defeats before their match at Burnley on Monday night.

Spurs have everything they need to win this match on paper but - in typical cliche fashion - they need to show that on the pitch from today until the end of the season if they have any chance of a European place (let alone Champions League).

Tips

  • Harry Kane to score first - 2/1
  • Spurs to win 1-0 - 6/1

Spurs will be jubilant at the news Harry Kane has not picked up any knocks after his appearance in the Carabao Cup final defeat.

After the set back, Kane will be looking to get back to scoring goals, focusing on the Euros and even advertise himself well in the transfer window if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.

He's 2/1 to score first.

Meanwhile, 10 of Sheffield United's 26 defeats have come from 1-0 scorelines - a result which is priced at 6/1 at the moment.

As things stand I am not convinced Mason is showing enough tactical knowledge for his side to be as clinical as he hoped for in his early days as a manager.

I think a similar result may be on the cards - though I reckon it will be a glass-half-empty feeling at full-time as there will be plenty of chances for Spurs to score in this match.
