Christian Eriksen scored a last-gasp winner to keep Tottenham's top-four pursuit on track with an edgy 1-0 win against Brighton.
Spurs had thrown everything at the Seagulls, hitting the post through Toby Alderweireld, before the Dane's spectacular finish finally broke the deadlock after 88 minutes.
Brighton had defended valiantly throughout the game with Lewis Dunk in particular proving an immense blockade.
Yet the cruel result leaves them firmly in a relegation scrap with Cardiff, just three points clear with fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea to come.
Tottenham meanwhile retain third-place in the Premier League, moving four points clear of Chelsea.
