Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping to put an end to his side’s poor Premier League form with victory over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Although Tottenham got off to a great start domestically by winning all three of their league games in August, September has been a month to forget for the club as they plummeted from top of the league to eleventh.
Heavy 3-0 defeats to Crystal Palace and Chelsea were followed up by a 3-1 loss to their closest rivals Arsenal at the Emirates last Sunday as the Gunners climbed above Espirito Santo ’s team in the table.
Nevertheless, with plenty of games still to go, there’s still time to turn things back around in north London, starting with a much-needed three points against an in-form Villa.
Dean Smith’s side have beaten Manchester United and Everton in their last two games, both without conceding a goal, and even though they lost 3-0 to Chelsea early on in September, they gave it a real go in that game too.
