Tottenham transfer rumours: Real Madrid squad's verdict on Gareth Bale exit, Lamela to be sold

It's set to be a big weekend in north London, as Tottenham are set to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid and will also land Sergio Reguilon from the La Liga giants.

Jose Mourinho's summer has gone well so far, landing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart to bolster the squad, but the next duo through the door will take things up a notch.

Spurs may not yet be done on the market though, with a host of potential incoming and outgoing deals still on the agenda.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding Mourinho's side.

Real Madrid players glad with Bale exit

Members of Real Madrid's squad are relieved that Gareth Bale is leaving the club to return to Tottenham, according to AS.

The Wales international is set to return to north London seven years after leaving Spurs to move to the Spanish capital, where he has endured a rollercoaster ride.

Despite numerous triumphs, notably in the Champions League, Bale has often found himself ostracised by the Spanish media and the supporters, while it's stated he didn't get on with his teammates either.

As a result, the consensus from Madrid is that the squad are glad to see the winger leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Five players to be sold

Tottenham's transfer focus could be set to shift towards outgoing deals and five players are being lined-up for an exit, according to the Sun.

The arrival of Sergio Reguilon could lead to an overhaul on the left side of the defence, with it stated both Danny Rose and Ryan Sessegnon could be set to leave.

Erik Lamela, initially signed as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, could also be on the move after the Welshman's return.

Finally, Joe Hart's arrival is said to have put Paulo Gazzaniga up for sale and Spurs are also looking to offload Juan Foyth.

Jack Clarke set for loan

Birmingham City are interested in signing Jack Clarke from Tottenham on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 season, Birmingham Live reports.

Aitor Karanka's side are closing in on a deal to land the 19-year-old, who spent time on loan at Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers last term.

Clarke joined Tottenham last summer from Leeds but is considered to be one for the future and a loan could provide the stability that Spurs are looking for.

The teenager was recalled from his loan with Leeds in January due to a lack of playing time, then moving to QPR and making six appearances.
