- Andy Robertson , the 32-year-old Scotland captain, has completed a move to Tottenham on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Liverpool.
- This transfer marks manager Roberto De Zerbi's first signing for Spurs, with De Zerbi praising Robertson's "outstanding technical qualities, experience, leadership and mentality”, as he branded him a “proven winner”.
- Robertson, who made 378 appearances for Liverpool and won two Premier League titles and the Champions League, was limited to just 11 Premier League starts last season, having fallen behind Milos Kerkez in the pecking order.
- The left-back's move to Tottenham was previously attempted in January but collapsed when Liverpool could not recall Kostas Tsimikas, but with Robertson now a free agent, he will officially join Spurs on 1 July.
- Robertson expressed his excitement to play for Tottenham, while sporting director Johan Lange highlighted his quality, character, and leadership as invaluable assets for the club's ambition to achieve success.
