Tottenham's dream transfer window explored as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could spark domino effect

Here is the Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Tuesday, August 11.

Spurs’ best and worst transfer window scenarios

Jose Mourinho looks set to complete his first signing of the summer with the imminent arrival of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

However, it doesn’t look like that will be all in terms of additions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, and we at football.london have taken a look at the best and worst case transfer scenarios that Spurs could face.

Best case: A new striker arrives to support Harry Kane, Max Aarons joins the club to bolster the squad’s right-back options, Tanguy Ndombele rediscovers his form before he joined Spurs, and the fringe players find a new club.

Worst case: Ndombele leaves after an underwhelming debut season in England, Mourinho is unable to sign the players he wants, deals aren’t done in quick time, and Kane once again has no competition up-front.

Ideal clubs for Skipp to join on loan

Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp could leave the club this summer on a loan deal in order to gain some much-needed first-team experience elsewhere.

Skipp made 11 appearances over the course of the 2019/20 season and could struggle even more for games in the next campaign with the imminent arrival of Hojbjerg.

The talented midfielder is bound to attract interest from various clubs if he is put up for loan and football.london have taken a look at the ideal destinations for the 19-year-old.

Fulham, who have just been promoted back to the Premier League, Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City are the five teams mentioned. Find out why here.

Big claim about Ndombele

Kevin Phillips believes Ndombele should leave Tottenham this summer following the imminent signing of Hojbjerg.

The former Premier League striker thinks that the Southampton midfielder will play a “huge part” under Mourinho next season, and it could force Ndombele to move on.

Phillips told Football Insider : “I would think that there will be at least one midfielder leaving. You need a decent squad in the Premier League but it is difficult to keep everyone on side. If he comes in, somebody would leave.

“I have said that Ndombele might come good this year but reading between the lines he could be the one that is sacrificed and moved on, even though he has only been there a short period. Mourinho clearly likes Hojbjerg, he has been pursuing him for a while, so once he gets him through the door, you would expect him to play a huge part in Tottenham’s season next year and someone will have to drop out.”
