Tottenham player ratings: Hugo Lloris superb but Romero, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Kane and Son poor

Hugo Lloris

Early on he got back to a Antony shot but fumbled it just past his post but moments later he jumped up to tip over a Fred effort. Made a big stop to deny Rashford one vs one on 20 minutes. Moments later he dived to push over a Fernandes free-kick and the tipped over a Shaw volley. Nothing he could do about Fred's deflected effort but made a big save from Rashford soon after. Again nothing he could do about Fernandes' curling effort but once again then made a great reaction save to deny Rashford. The Frenchman was immense and stopped it from being a huge scoreline. 9

Cristian Romero

Sloppy passing and some reckless moments in the first half. Didn't get much better in the second half. Really looked out of sorts. 4

Eric Dier

Also poor on the ball at times, some really poor decision-making and messed up his attempts of stopping United charging forward before Fred scored after the break. 4

Ben Davies

Unfortunate deflection on Fred's goal because he was probably the least error prone of the back three. 6

Matt Doherty

Curled a left-footed shot past the far post after a wonderful ball from Kane into his path. Struggled to make the same impact as his past two starts. 5

Yves Bissouma

Didn't do his case for another start against Newcastle or help the calls for the 3-5-2 any favours. So many heavy touches and struggles to progress the ball. 4

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Wild passing at times in the first half as he looked lost at sea at times. Plenty of effort but this was well, well below his usual standard and he was off the pace for United's second. 4

Rodrigo Bentancur

Heavily involved early on and he flashed a shot across goal in the opening stages. Struggled after that to maintain his usual composure on the ball. 5

Ivan Perisic

Beat his man a couple of times down the left but after Conte saying he had seen the Perisic he knew against Everton, this was not that version of the Croatian. 5

Harry Kane

Sent some glorious balls out to Doherty early in the first half and had a shot saved by De Gea before the break. Anonymous though for much of the second half apart from one saved effort at the back post when he was offside. 4

Son Heung-min

Didn't see much of the ball in the opening half an hour before curling a shot over the United goal from outside the box. Like Kane he barely saw the ball and when they both had it they didn't use it well. Left United with an uncontested header in the centre of the pitch in the build-up to their second goal. 4
