Tottenham news: What Antonio Conte did as Spurs transfer confirmed

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Tuesday, August 16.

Antonio Conte cam vs Chelsea

Tottenham's trip to Stamford Bridge was their first London derby of the season and the rivalry was very much on show throughout the game. The clash finished 2-2 after Harry Kane scored Spurs' equalising goal deep into stoppage time.

Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel were both shown red cards as a result of their altercation after the final whistle. This wasn't something the Italian was best pleased about, which he explained in his post match press conference.

Conte always shows his passion on the touchline and if anything, the game on Sunday saw this come out even more. So football.london takes a look at what the Tottenham boss did during the fixture.

Destiny Udogie transfer confirmed

Tottenham have confirmed Destiny Udogie as their seventh summer signing on a five-year deal, with him being loaned back to Udinese for the 2022/23 season. Spurs have already welcomed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence to the squad, in the last few months.

Antonio Conte has been working this summer to strengthen his squad with new arrivals, giving him strength in depth. Tottenham's season got off to a flying start, with a 4-1 win against Southampton and their second game ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Now the Lilywhites have also signed Udogie, although they will have to wait until 2023/24 when he links up with the first-team squad. The 19-year-old made 35 Serie A appearances and eight goal contributions last season, featuring as a left midfielder and a left-back.

Udogie's first words after signing for Spurs

Destiny Udogie has said it's a "dream come true" to join Tottenham Hotspur as Antonio Conte welcomes the seventh signing of the summer to north London. The 19-year-old defender was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and has now penned a five-year deal with the Lilywhites.

"It is a big honour for me to be here in this big team, big club with a big history," he said. "I always knew football was inside me. It was always my dream since a child. I started when I was four-years-old. I lived in Verona - 20 minutes from the centre."
