Tottenham news: Spurs closing in on £21m signing as Nicolo Zaniolo transfer pursuit continues

Your latest Tottenham Hostpur transfer gossip on Friday, August 5.

Spurs seventh signing 'close'

Tottenham Hotspur are close to agreeing a deal to sign Udinese left-back Destiny Udogie, according to The Telegraph.

The highly-rated 19-year-old defender is expected to cost around £21 million with the Serie A club requesting to take him back on loan for the 2022/23 season.

Udogie would become Spurs' seventh summer signing after Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster all made the move to N17.

Nicolo Zaniolo pursuit continues

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Spurs remain in the race to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma this summer.

Speaking on Spurs' pursuit of the Italian playmaker, Jacobs tweeted: "Spurs still very much pursuing Nicola Zaniolo, who is open to a move.

"Outgoings the priority but talks with Roma could see a player go the other way. Milan have cooled on Japhet Tanganga for now. Jose Mourinho likes him. One to watch."

Tanganga exchange

According to Calciomercatoweb, Antonio Conte wants Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes as part of his Spurs squad for the new season and is willing to offer Japhet Tanganga in a player swap-deal.

The English defender was expected to go to AC Milan, but a move has stalled. Now, Tanganga could end up at PSG – with Tottenham keen to bring Argentina international Paredes to North London, with PSG valuing the midfielder in the region of £17million.
