Tottenham news: Richarlison back in training as Antonio Conte makes Juventus transfer decision

Your morning digest for Tottenham from football.london on Wednesday, November 9.

Richarlison returns to training

Richarlison is back in training for Spurs, football.london understands.

The Brazilian has been absent since going off as a second half substitute against Everton with a calf injury that threatened to put his World Cup in doubt. The £50m summer signing has since been included in Tite's 26-man squad for the tournament though and has now returned after Antonio Conte's men lost to Liverpool.

The attacker trained with those that didn't play against Jurgen Klopp's side on Sunday and is expected to be in the squad to face Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup this evening.

Djed Spence time

Conte, who has done 20 press conferences in the past five weeks, chose not to speak to the media ahead of the fixture this evening and instead left those duties to assistant coach Cristian Stellini.

The Italian got his first taste of this last week as he also appeared whilst Conte was on a touchline ban following a red card in the Champions League.

One player that will be hoping to be involved in the cup is Djed Spence. The England Under-21 international hasn't had the desired effect since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer and has struggled for game time despite Conte chopping and changing his wingbacks.

Stellini said of Spence, "Sometimes some players that arrive from another league like the Championship and they need more time to be ready, but we are happy with Djed. Really happy because he works hard, but he needs time and we need to take the right decision for him.

"Sometimes with young players you have to be careful. If you hurry to use this type of player you can create a problem for them. So when will be the right time, Djed Spence will play.

Juventus transfer target

Spurs reportedly want to bring in Juventus star Samuel Illing-Junior after the former Chelsea youth star broke into Max Allegri's side.

He has impressed in the Champions League, getting an assist in his only appearance following star performances for the club's youth sides. Illing-Junior is out of contract next summer and Spurs will face competition from Brighton and RB Salzburg for his signature, report TuttoSport.

Fabio Paratici was even at Juventus when they snapped him up from SW6 and may well look to work a similar deal in order to bring the winger to north London.
