Tottenham news: Newcastle can help solve Antonio Conte problem and help secure Nicolo Zaniolo

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Thursday, August 10.

Newcastle can help Antonio Conte solve Tottenham's squad issue

It remains to be seen where Tanguy Ndombele will be playing his football from September onwards as he waits to seal a Tottenham exit. Not part of Antonio Conte's plans and allowed to head out on loan to former club Lyon in January, the writing is very much on the wall for the Frenchman in north London three years after his big-money move to the club.

One of four players omitted from Spurs' pre-season tour of South Korea, the midfielder, along with Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon, was also left out of the friendlies against Rangers and Roma. Admitting that he cannot guarantee the quartet will play for him if they don't leave Spurs this month, Conte outlined the importance of "finding the right solution" for both player and club before the transfer deadline when speaking to the media ahead of the Southampton game.

Having all the attributes and qualities to be a huge success in the game, Spurs, in theory, should have clubs queuing up to sign Ndombele due to his undoubted talent. Unfortunately, that is not the case because of his struggles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Underwhelming during his short time back at Lyon, there are now three weeks until the transfer window closes for business, and there are plenty of question marks over what comes next for the 25-year-old as he looks to get his career back on track.

How Tottenham could line up if Nicolò Zaniolo joins

Nicolò Zaniolo could finally move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer after months of speculation, with outgoing transfers key to any deal being secured.

The Roma man was reportedly due to join Spurs earlier in the summer, according to Corriere Dello Sport, before Jose Mourinho blocked the move. The £42.5 million transfer would have included an initial loan deal, but now Spurs may return should the exits of Tanguy Ndombele, Givani Lo Celso and Harry Winks be secured.

They could bring in up to £42.5 million for Ndombele, with Newcastle interested in the midfielder, which could mean that they are able to meet the £50 million price the Serie A club have now reportedly set.

Destiny Udogie explains why he is perfect for Antonio Conte

Tottenham fans will be keeping a close eye on Serie A this season, following Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte's latest summer transfer business. Fresh from adding six new players to their squad ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, Spurs are on the verge of signing a seventh to bolster their squad for the future.

football.london understands that the Lilywhites are confident of tying up a move for Udinese left wing-back Destiny Udogie in the coming days. The deal will be worth around £22m, including add-ons, and the Italy U21 international will be loaned back to the Italian team for the season.

Already adding to the position this summer with Ivan Perisic moving to the club on a free transfer from Inter Milan, Paratici and Conte appear to be planning for the future with the addition of Udogie. A change to their previous transfer policy by moving for the Croat, who turns 34 in February, it remains to be seen how long the player will go on for as he gets set to enter the final few years of his successful career.
