Tottenham news: Cristian Stellini drops Brighton team news hint amid new Daniel Levy role

Your Tottenham morning digest on Saturday, April 8.

Danjuma hint

Cristian Stellini has suggested that Arnaut Danjuma could start against Brighton, claiming that he trusts the 25-year-old forward to bolster Spurs' frontline. The Italian has preferred a front-three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Richarlison or Dejan Kulusevski in recent weeks.

With only the club captain providing the goods in front of goal, Danjuma could be given a chance to impress. Stellini told "Now for sure because we don’t have many players but Danjuma deserves to play probably early but we also have a squad and some leaders of our team and if you send them out of the team then you can lose the ability to score.

"We have three very good strikers and it’s not easy to change them. You have to find the right way and the right moment and also now tactically we don’t have many solutions, and we don’t have enough players."

Planning application submitted

Tottenham have submitted a planning application to Enfield Council to extend part of the first team area at their Hotspur Way complex in a move they believe will help future managers and their coaching staff.

The sprawling training ground, which is often used by England and other visiting national teams, is constantly being upgraded and updated, with work currently taking place to build a new media centre on site for club staff having recently improved the academy buildings. Now Spurs have submitted a new application, partially retrospective, to extend the first team training centre building to help house their ever-growing numbers of coaching staff.

The proposal is for a single storey extension to the northern most bay protrusion of the first team wing, to the north-west of the building. It would provide additional facilities for use by the first team coaches, including new dedicated office spaces, private offices and meeting rooms, alongside kit storage and ancillary areas for support functions. The extension would provide 231sqm of new floorspace.

The newcomer, in his first European role, will come in essentially as chairman Daniel Levy's number two and the club have confirmed the Australian will take charge of all footballing departments. A statement from the club said: "As referenced in the chairman’s statement (from the last set of financial results) there has been an ongoing review over the past six months of all of our footballing activities.

"Changes have been made and further improvements continue to ensure future progress and competitiveness. Scott, former City Football Group Executive, has extensive experience within sporting organisations having started his career with the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games and then transitioning into the National Rugby League, before joining the Australia Football League."
