Tottenham evening headlines as Barcelona hand Mourinho transfer setback and fresh Son update

Barcelona star makes decision amid Tottenham interest

Spurs are set to miss out on Barcelona’s Arthur Melo after the player has reportedly decided to stay in Barcelona.

Reports in Spain claimed Jose Mourinho was said to be interested in the midfielder, and was looking to launch a bid once the summer transfer window opens.

However, the 23-year-old has decided that Barcelona is the best place for him to continue his development and will remain at the club.

Spurs star shows off new look

The shaven head look has become all the rage recently, with many taking to DIY haircuts during the current lockdown period.

Alasdair Gold on Raul Jimenez, wage cuts & European qualification

Son Heung-min has decided to follow suit, showing off his new short-haired look on social media while on military service back in South Korea.

The forward is back in his homeland partaking in three weeks of training with marines and has altered his previously longer locks while there.

Taking advantage of the current break, Son returned to complete the mandatory training and is set to arrive back in London in May.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold has more details on what the player has been up to and his new look here.

Lineker’s Premier League concern

Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker has expressed concern that this season’s Premier League may not be completed.

Following the decision to cancel the Eredivisie season by the Dutch FA with no league champions or relegation, the BBC pundit fears the same could happen in England.

The Premier League has maintained a commitment to attempt to finish the current campaign, however there is no clear indication as to when or how that will take place.

With the first major European top division falling, Lineker is wary of the fact England’s top flight may follow suit.

"May well prove to be the only way," the former England striker posted on social media. "Hardly the fairest way, though?"

With Spurs currently eighth in the table, any potential cancellation could see Jose Mourinho’s side miss out on European qualification for next season.
