Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy sets conditions for Harry Kane transfer as Man City make plans

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has set strict conditions over the potential sell of star striker Harry Kane this summer.

The Spurs forward, who is set to spearhead England’s attack at Euro 2020 this month, has made his intentions of leaving the club in the near future clear.

He has cited a lack of major silverware as his primary reason as wanting to depart the club, with Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United talked up as the main contenders for his signature.

It is reported that Pep Guardiola is willing to sanction £70m worth of sales in order to finance moves for Kane and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish this summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Three Lions captain will be allowed to leave North London considering that he is fresh off the back of another Premier League Golden Boot winning campaign.

Levy is sure to be a tough negotiator and has now set his primary conditions should the club be tempted to cash in on Kane during this summer’s transfer window though.

According to The Sun, Levy wants at least £150m for the forward and any deal must be cash-only.

Levy is reported to not be interested in any cash plus player swap deals as the North London club attempt to overcome financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic, a problem that has been exacerbated by Spurs failing to regain their place in the UEFA Champions League.

A deal worth £150m would become a record sale for a Premier League club and would eclipse the huge sums received by Liverpool and Chelsea for their sales of Phillipe Coutinho and Eden Hazard to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Meanwhile, a transfer would also beat Spurs’ current record sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid back in 2013.

The club though are understandably reluctant to sell Kane with the 221-goal forward now in his peak years and having three years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
