Tottenham blow in Nicolo Zaniolo bid after Roma U-turn with outgoings the priority after Destiny Udogie swoop

Roma have cooled their interest in selling Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo.

Spurs were interested in the 23-year-old after being offered the chance to bid for Zaniolo, who is out of contract in 202, but Roma are now understood to want to keep the Italy international.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are expected to complete the signing of Italian left-back Destiny Udogie from Udinese next week, with the 21-year-old due in London to sign a long-term deal on Monday.

Udogie will return to Udinese on loan for the season and was expected to complete the move in Italy, but he is now due at Hotspur Way following the first round of Serie A fixtures.

Considered a player for the future, Udogie’s signing comes as Spurs prioritise trimming the squad before considering any more signings this summer.

Meanwhile, Spurs Women have continued their summer recruitment drive with the signing of Norway international Celin Bizet Ildhusøy from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 20-year-old attacker came off the bench during England's record 8-0 win over Norway on the way to winning the European Championship this summer.

Bizet Ildhusøy is Spurs' eighth signing of the summer after Angharad James, Amy Turner, Ellie Brazil, Nikola Karczewska, Esther Morgan, Ramona Petzelberger and Drew Spence.
