The case of missing pregnant woman Rebecca Park took a dark turn. Her mother, Cortney Bartholomew, 40, and her stepfather, Bradly Bartholomew, 47, were charged on December 2, 2025. They face serious charges related to her death.
According to People, the charges include first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, and conspiracy to commit torture. The Michigan Department of Attorney General announced these charges. The list shows how serious the alleged crimes were.
The couple appeared before Judge Corey Wiggins in the 84th District Court in Cadillac. They also face charges of assault on a pregnant person causing miscarriage or stillbirth, plus conspiracy for that charge. Each major charge could lead to a life sentence. The Bartholomews were also charged with unlawful imprisonment, which is a 15-year felony, and removal of a dead body, which is a 1-year misdemeanor.
The allegations paint a horrifying picture of what happened
Rebecca Park was 22 years old and 38 weeks pregnant when she disappeared. According to the Attorney General’s office, the investigation claims that on November 3, her mother and stepfather brought her to their home in Wexford County. The office says the pair allegedly tortured Park to try to remove the unborn baby. This led to the deaths of both Rebecca and the baby.
Rebecca was last seen around 11:30 PM on Monday, November 3, in the Cadillac and Boon Township area. Her fiancé, Richard Falor, told 9&10 News that she got into a dark-colored car outside her mother’s house that night. This shocking case adds to other disturbing family betrayal stories that have made headlines recently.

The search went on for weeks. A spokesperson for Michigan State Police told People on November 25 that a body matching Park’s description was found in Manistee National Forest.
Wexford County Sheriff Trent Taylor released a statement saying that Park’s autopsy showed she was no longer pregnant. Authorities are still trying to find out what happened to the unborn baby and where it might be. They continue to search for the baby while moving forward with the murder investigation.

After Rebecca’s remains were found, her younger sister, Kimberly Park, 21, and her fiancé, Richard Falor, 43, were both arrested and taken to Wexford County Jail. Authorities have not said if these arrests are directly connected to finding Rebecca’s body.
Kimberly was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer, and filing a false report. The charges against family members bring to mind another case of deception involving a mother. Falor faces two counts of delivering methamphetamine, according to custody records.
