Top Edinburgh restaurants named finalists for prestigious Scottish Curry Awards

By Gary Armstrong

Top Edinburgh restaurants from across the city are in the running to win top prizes at this year's prestigious Scottish Curry Awards.

Nominations for a number of different capital curry houses flooded in over recent weeks, with owners, chefs and staff hoping their eatery is crowned in one of several categories including Curry Restaurant of the Year, Indian Restaurant of the Year and Takeaway of the Year.

Nominees will gather at an awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow on June 13.

Organisers recently announced: "Finalists for the 14th Official Scottish Curry Awards 2022 are now live following the huge success and growth of the campaign over last decade.

"Nominations came in from the central belt to the Highlands, reflecting Scotland’s love for South-Asian cuisine. The Scottish Curry Awards exist to recognise and celebrate the devotion, service and tasty food provided by the best establishments in the industry, who work their hardest to perfect every meal."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Curry Awards 2022 said: "We can’t wait to host the 14th Scottish Curry Awards following the massive success of last year’s events. Scotland’s general food industry is one of the most exciting and transformative in the UK, with curry continuing to play a key role in its evolution and innovation.

"Having seen some of the finalists, we’re more excited than ever to deliver these awards and want to wish them all the best of luck."
